To celebrate the release of the Oscar nominated film, Up in the Air OK! is giving away a prize pack that includes: an Up in the Air DVD, soundtrack and limited edition key chain.
Anton Corbijn has updated his blog with a few pics from the filming in Sweden. Visit Anton’s Blog here.
Whoever said that Sweden can be cold in the winter wasn’t wrong. We filmed the beginning of the film at the very end of our shooting schedule: Late January in the middle of Sweden, Ostersund. We filmed on a frozen lake in -20° celsius so that was tough on everyone, especially on the actors. Other than the cold it was just a splendid time – wonderful light, amazing white landscapes and short days filming. George had been able to grow a beard in the time between the end of the Italy shoot and this Swedish part, so there are two very different looks to him in the movie.
We shot a ferry crossing while we were standing with equipment and 5 vans ON the ice -that is how thick and hard the ice is. That is, by the way, not the picture shown, as that is the film camera and the snow scooters, which is how we shot most of the Sweden section. It is fun driving these scooters but beware if you sit on the back of my scooter and decide to go backwards. You might find out that Sweden is very pretty horizontally.
Here’s a peak at some of the special features that will be on the “Up in the Air” DVD. George and cast have a little fun during takes. The DVD will be released on March 9th but you can reserve your copy here. Up in the Air
Thanks to Clooney Gazette for scanning this Q&A with George from Vox Magazines first issue. They also have a great scan from les Inrockuptibles featuring Wes Anderson on The Fantastic Mr Fox you can read it here.
And thanks to Laetval for posting this (Google) translation in the CNCU Forum!
The Cary Grant of the 21st century
He is on all fronts: environmental, humanitarian, celebrities and film. However, the actor-director does not have the big head and “The Men Who Stare at Goats,” his new comedy, is the proof!
Vox : George, you are the poster of the men who stare at goats! What would you say if you were to summarize in a few words?
George : For me, the men who stare, is a comedy although it has not the usual standards. is the story of Bob Wilton, a desperate reporter who is happy meeting Lyn Cassady, a soldier with paranormal powers fighting terrorism. they go together in Iraq when they meet Bill Django, the founder of the unit that runs a prison. like that, I see that you do not bend to laugh, but I assure you it’s pretty funny.
V : by your side, there are Ewan McGregor, we see everywhere now, including defending gay’s rights alongside Jim Carrey in ‘I love philip morris “! here’s one that will start to get a sacred competition!
G : but the better and deserved it. this is an actor who looks like Brad Pitt in the way of understanding the existence and fame: it does not take the head is not watermelon, simplicity, generosity, and a extreme kindness. me if I was 15 years younger, is the type which I like.
V : you also are very generous. you just give one million dollars to victims of Haiti!
Here’s a sneak peak at one of the documentaries that will be available on “The Fantastic Mr Fox” DVD. “The Fantastic Mr. Fox” is available on DVD March 23!

Vera Farmiga says it would be ”impossible” for an actress not to have chemistry with George Clooney, who she stars with in ‘Up In The Air’.
George Clooney has “chemistry” with all his female co-stars.
The Hollywood hunk – who appears alongside Anna Kendrick and Vera Farmiga in ‘Up In The Air’ – has an automatic connection with all of his screen lovers, who can’t help but be attracted to him.
Vera – who plays his screen lover Alex – said: “I’ll tell you, it’s impossible not to have chemistry with George Clooney.
“He’s a goofball. He’s a clown. It’s just so good to be in his presence, and as a scene partner, anything goes. It’s a real circus with him on set. It’s carefree and loving and warm.”
Vera’s colleague Anna – who portrays businesswoman Natalie – has also spoken out about George’s flirtatious ways, admitting she was initially “terrified” of him but he soon put her at ease.
She told Empire magazine: “During the camera test he was making fun of my hair. If it was anybody else that you’d just met, you’d be like, ‘What’s this guy’s problem?’ But it’s George Clooney. Obviously, he is really intimidating as a sort of iconic figure. Really terrifying.
“Then the second that you meet him properly, you know you’re going to feel that he’s a normal guy in a matter of days. He is one of the most famous people on the planet, but he has a real talent for making you feel like you’ve known him forever.”
The Source featured a special on Haiti in their March issue. Included was a two page pictorial on the Hope for Haiti Now benefit which had some pics of George so I’ve added scans to the gallery.
