Here’s a real quick Betta Update. Seems the gossip mills have been rampant with rumors of George selling the Villa and buying a new island to please Miss Betta. Apparently she’s getting tired of the Paps hanging around the place. George set that rumor to rest with this quote

“To complete the news cycle: I am not buying an island and am not selling my house in Italy. The story was made up, then picked up and now denied. End of another riveting day of false news,”

But the Pap’s haven’t stopped Betta from her work. According to this site she’s is in talks to appear in a recurring role on the third season of TNT’s drama, Leverage and below you can see pics of her hard at work on the set of her new movie and working the rounds at Milan Fashion Week.

George Clooney’s Girlfriend In Talks to Join TV Show

George Clooney may have to start sharing the spotlight! His girlfriend, Italian model Elisabetta Canalis, is in talks to appear in a recurring role on the third season of TNT’s drama, Leverage, a source tells UsMagazine.com. “She’s very excited about the part as well as the chance to break into American television,” the source tells Us. Canalis — an Italian TV personality who has had a few acting gigs in her native country — met with the show’s producers in January to discuss the potential role, which would have her act as a mysterious international secret agent. According to the source, Canalis, 31, has Clooney, 48, to thank for the potential gig. His good friend, Richard Kind, guest stars on Leverage’s second season finale (which airs Wednesday), and helped her connect with the show’s producers. “He told her what a great experience it was and how much he enjoyed it,” the source says. “So when the opportunity came up, she was thrilled.” Although she currently resides in Italy, she is making plans to come stateside to shoot her scenes. “She knows she’ll be over here to be with George at the Oscars so she’s hoping to shoot some of her part then,” the source tells Us. Leverage’s season finale airs Wednesday at 10 p.m. EST on TNT. The next season is scheduled to premiere this summer.

Casual and full of humor, George Clooney, the most popular actor of the moment could be nominated for Oscars.

FRANCE-SOIR.  In your new film, In the Air, you play the role of a man who spends his time in airplanes and hotel rooms. The fiction joined this time for you, just the reality, right?

GEORGE CLOONEY. Yes, I must admit that that I embody the character in In the air touched me personally because there are undoubtedly some similarities between this role and my privacy.  What touched me in this film, it does embody a man who, through selfishness, has totally lost touch with reality. Finally, his taste for independence will play tricks on him and he will start to open their eyes to the real world.

Your character is completely disconnected from his family.  Are you close to yours?
It’s very strange because the more I’m getting older, the closer I get to my parents and my family in general. I feel more and more need to be at their sides. My father has become my best friend and chief confidant.

From simple B-series player, you have changed the status of Hollywood legend.  Today, in show business, everybody listens to you.  How do you explain this phenomenon?

It’s simple. Everything changed the day I bought the villa in Lake Como.Since I have this house in Italy, coincidentally, all the Hollywood stars want to be friends with me.  Brad Pitt refused to speak to me and now bows when I approached him! Matt Damon is almost ready to sell her body just to set foot in my house. I really have no merit. They are friends with me just by pure interest.

Speaking of Italy, you seem really happy today with your Italian girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis …

Yes, right now, it’s la dolce vita. I see only by Italy and I can now travel on Air Italia (laughter).  I am extremely happy and I just try to enjoy the moment.

There is talk of a possible marriage.  Is this the case?

Why, when I’m with someone, people want to join immediately on two things: a wedding and a baby. For now, Elisabetta and I take great pleasure in being together. This is an extremely intelligent person who has the most down to earth.

What is the secret to his successful Hollywood life as a couple?

I think it is very difficult for an actor to get his love life, not because of external temptations but because of time requested for himself. To succeed in Hollywood, he must above all be damned selfish. Now that I have reached a certain level in my career, I want to take care of others. It is time that I quit to concentrate on my own little person, but to invest myself to others.

Under your jovial, they say you are an incredible anguish.

Absolutely.  That’s probably why I have to follow a lifelong treatment to cure my stomach ulcers. Besides, it reminds me that I must take my medicine. Bye.

Skipping the Sag Awards Betta heads back to Milan for a little work and a lot of fun.  Looks to be she’s been doing some promotional visits for Roberto Cavalli at the nightclubs and enjoying the atmosphere! She even gets in some of her favorite past time Shopping.

Here’s a bit of gossip out there apparantly George and Betta were out doing a bit of shopping this week.

Gossip-Cop confirms what we already knew – it’s just not true….

Complete with a huge typo in the lead sentence, the National Enquirer claims in a story titled “Clooney’s Hush-Hush Baby Plans” that “’Goregous’ George Clooney’s ready to become a daddy!”

OK. Try to follow this one…

According to the tab, “During the holidays, gorgeous [spelled correctly] model Elisabetta Canalis told George that she wants to get pregnant. Friends of 48-year-old Clooney were shocked when he responded: ‘Sounds like a plan to me! When do we get started?’”

Not even sticking to its own premise, the Enquirer then claims that a so-called “source” says Clooney asked Canalis “what she wanted for Christmas, [and] she said, ‘Your baby!’”

The tab goes on to say that it got Clooney to “think about how ready he is to be a dad and what a perfect mother Elisabetta would be.” The Enquirer even quotes that supposed “source” as saying that at Clooney’s Christmas party, the Oscar winner told essentially everyone “the story of Elisabetta’s Christmas wish for a baby – adding that if she is a really good girl, next Christmas Santa might bring her what she asks for.”

Wait, he told everyone his “hush-hush baby plans” at a Christmas party?

Not one source we contacted could verify this baby talk. And Clooney’s rep commented, “Not even worth a response.”

Here’s the latest on George’s Bachelor status — looks like it remains intact!

GEORGE CLOONEY is urging fans to stop speculating about a possible engagement to girlfriend ELISABETTA CANALIS – the actor is adamant he will never marry his long term lover because he would be a “lousy husband.”

The Hollywood heart-throb was recently rumoured to have proposed to the Italian beauty, but a representative for the star dismissed the reports, insisting the couple, who have been dating since last summer (09), have no plans to exchange vows.

And Clooney has confirmed there won’t be a wedding any time soon.  He tells Britain’s Reveal magazine, “I tried marriage and it didn’t work. I have had long relationships with women and they get bored with me working all the time. My fear is that I would make a lousy husband and I don’t want to put myself, or anyone else, through the pain of finding out. If I was my girlfriend, I wouldn’t put up with me for very long!”

Not getting much rest,  Elisabetta Canalis was spotted out shopping in SoHo on Tuesday morning (January 12).

The retail outing comes after a late night on the town with George Clooney the previous evening – as Miss Canalis joined her beau as he was honored as Best Actor at the NY Film Critics Circle event.
