“Up in the Air” was named best picture and its star, George Clooney, best actor in voting Sunday by the nearly 30 members of the Kansas City Film Critics Circle. The picture also won the screenplay adaptation award for writers Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner.

Montreal-born Jason Reitman’s comedy-drama Up in the Air is the top nominee for the 2010 Vancouver Film Critics Circle awards. Starring George Clooney as a corporate-downsizing expert, Up in the Air is in the running for Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay (Reitman and Sheldon Turner) Best Actor (Clooney) and Best Supporting Actress (Anna Kendrick and Vera Farmiga.)

The tenth annual Vancouver Critics Circle Awards will be held at The Railway Club in Vancouver on Monday, January 11. The Vancouver Film Critics Circle is composed of Vancouver-based online, radio, print, and television film writers and critics.

While National Society of Film Critics’ ignored the golden globe favorite Up in the Air they did award honors to one of George’s recent releases by giving Nelson Lowry the win for  best production design for the animated film “The Fantastic Mr. Fox.”

I’m currently working on the video gallery so right now it is not open for viewing.  I’m hoping to have it opened back up for registration by Tuesday of next week.  So if you’ve applied for registration in the last few days it’s not gone through and won’t until I have it back up.  I’ll post a note when it is and you will be able to re-register at that time.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Also for clarification.  If you post a comment — your first comment will not appear until it’s been approved.  After that there is no approval necessary and all comments will automatically be posted.

Okay the forum is down.  We are in the process of moving Clooney Network over to the Clooney Unlimited server.  Unfortunately I didn’t realize it was happening so soon and wasn’t able to post a warning on the forum for everyone.  I apologize for that and hope to have it up as quickly as possible.

Please visit Clooney Unlimited for updates or if you’d like fill out the form below and I will add you to a mailing list.  Also if you could spread the word in the community that would be great. If you’ve previously submitted your name then you won’t need to submit again.

I’d been wanting a new look for awhile but hadn’t found one I liked then ran across this one and thought it looked good. With it came some new goodies. The Lead Articles are now in Flash format and will rotate .. you can view more just by clicking on “More Lead Articles” in the upper right corner of the picture.

Also you can now subscribe to receive an automatic email each day with the updates made to Clooney Unlimited. Just enter your email in the upper right hand sidebar.

And there is now a translation tool in the sidebar.  Just click on your flag and the page should translate.  Please remember that it’s automated so the translations won’t be 100% accurate but should do the trick. If there is a language you want added contact me and I’ll see if it can be added.

Also updated were the Image and Video Galleries.  I’ve added a new layout to both.  The Image gallery has been updated to registered members.  Guest can still view the gallery but can only view the thumbnail images. In order to view the larger images you will need to register in the gallery.

The biggest addition that I have added is a Video Gallery.  It’s a small collection that I hope to build up over time.  If you have any clips that you would like added to the Gallery please feel free to contact me.  For administrative purposes you will need to register in order to view the gallery.  If you are registered with Clooney Unlimited your id/password will not work on the Video Gallery.  You will need to set up a separate account.  The files are in Zip format and you will need to download them to view.  Also most of the files are WMV but a few are FLV but it is listed in the information below the file on what type of player you will need in order to view.

All the links for the new pages and gallery can be found in the main menu.  I hope you enjoy these new additions and if you have any questions give me a shout.

Clooney Project has made it to the Telly!!

Clooney Project was mentioned on yesterday’s Daily 10 and today’s weekend version of the same show which airs on E! according to Merlin and Chris who were both kind enough to keep me informed.
