Clooney’s Armani Moment
Giorgio outfits George in bespoke for Ocean’s Thirteen

(NEW YORK) Giorgio Armani knows what and whom he likes, and George Clooney certainly fits the bill. So much so, in fact, that the designer has collaborated with Hollywood costume designer Louise Frogley to create the on-screen looks for Clooney’s Danny Ocean in Ocean’s Thirteen, the third installment of the heist franchise. “My long-time friend Giorgio loves movies as much as I love those suits of his,” said the actor, a front-row fixture at his shows and personal friend of Armani, in a statement. “So we thought, hey, put the two together!” The collaboration stemmed from a brainstorming session Clooney, Armani, and producer Jerry Weintraub conducted over a lunch in Lake Como last summer.
The looks Clooney dons in the film are from Armani’s Hand-Made-to-Measure line and boast custom suits and signature tuxedos that emulate the “high life” of the actor’s character. “Dressing George Clooney is every designer’s dream,” Armani said. “But being George Clooney’s friend transcends business. He inspires me, as Cary Grant did a generation ago.” Ocean’s Thirteen will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this week and will debut in the U.S. on June 8. [The Daily Scene]
