New Project: Pet Sematary
Clooney Remakes Pet Sematary
Just when you thought George Clooney was floating off into the world of politically relevant but generally unpopular films for good, he goes and remakes Pet Sematary. Atta boy George!
The great guys over at Bloody-Disgusting are reporting that Clooney has been confirmed to play Doc Cage in an upcoming Pet Sematary redo. This is a rumor that’s been floating around since 2004, and actually I think most had assumed it was either untrue or just didn’t pan out, but here we are.
If you missed it back in 89, the original Pet Semetary starred “Munster” Fred Gwynne and “Star Trek TNG” alum Denise Crosby. Clooney is a considerable step up.
Based on the same named Stephen King novel (and with a screenplay written by King), it’s the story of a family who moves into a town with a pet cemetery and an Indian burial ground. Indian burial grounds, as always, are nothing but trouble.
