On Thursday I talked to , a journalist and the father of George Clooney, about their recent trip to , which raised more awareness of that dire situation in 10 days than America’s top journalists had been able to do in two years. “George calls it his celebrity credit card, and he’s willing to expend it when necessary,” Nick said. “Stars have more power than politicians, than journalists. I’m not happy that that’s true, but since it is, it’s stupid for them to just aggrandize themselves or buy two more houses. George didn’t go to for the publicity.
