Obama rumors are false
Reports that actor George Clooney is in close contact with Barack Obama — advising him on both oratorical and policy matters – are false, a spokesman for the the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee told FOXNews.com on Tuesday.
Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt called a story on Clooney and Obama that appeared in the (London) Daily Mail “an inaccurate report” and noted that Clooney’s longtime rep has said similar reports are old and untrue.
The Daily Mail reported Clooney and Obama regularly chat on e-mail and via text message, and speak by phone at least twice a week.
“They are extremely close. A number of members of the Hollywood community, including Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, offered to help raise funds for Barack but it was with George that he struck up this amazing affinity,” one Democratic source said, according to the Daily Mail.
The source reportedly told the newspaper that in addition to speaking and body language advice, Clooney — a pro-Palestinian advocate — is informally advising Obama on Middle East issues, including advocating unconditional withdrawal from Iraq should Obama win office.
