Rep: George Clooney Is No Lone Ranger

Reports that George Clooney will star alongside Johnny Depp in The Lone Ranger are “not true,” Clooney’s rep told CelebTV.com.
The 47-year-old actor was rumored to play the masked crimefighter with fellow star Johnny Depp as his sidekick, Tonto.
Depp signed on to do the movie version of The Lone Ranger—which was written by the Pirates of the Caribbean writers—earlier this year, and reports suggested Clooney was hoping to work with Depp.
The movie is set to be released in 2009.
