More on Fantastic Mr Fox

WHEN ROALD DAHL wrote “The Fan tastic Mr. Fox,” he had no idea he’d eventually make George Clooney so happy. George will the starring voice in Fox’s coming animated feature of Dahl’s story. While performing his chores a few weeks back, the studio put him up at the posh Sunset Marquis Hotel in a $7,000-a-night suite for an entire month. The hotel has its own sound studio, and so Clooney did voice-overs there instead of traveling from his house. (I have no idea where Cate Blanchett, Anjelica Huston, Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman will be sleeping while they record their voices for this movie.)
Clooney used a private screening room in the hotel to show sports events to his numerous buddies and even had the loan of a famed Gibson guitar in case any of the guys wanted to strum. The deal also included a private chef for the Clooney gang, the loan of a Bentley and George’s own private entrances in and out of his rooms.
OK, OK! So the stars - they aren’t “always” just like us. A few of them now and then get treated like movie stars. And George is one of the most deserving. (He is in Puerto Rico, getting a tan while shooting “The Men Who Stare at Goats.”)

An excerpt from an interview with Bill Murray where he talks about recording Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Q: What is your role in Wes Anderson’s upcoming animated “Fantastic Mr. Fox”?
Murray: I’ll be playing the badger.
Q: What is your badger voice?
Murray: Unfortunately, my badger… I worked really, really hard on a Wisconsin accent, ’cause I thought that would be an appropriate badger voice. And for the first couple scenes I did this Wisconsin badger voice that I thought was so funny. I did the first couple scenes and then Wes goes, “Nah, I don’t think so. I would think it’s kind of a Savile Row badger.” Who here has seen a badger walkin’ down Savile Row? Anybody? (Laughter) Yeah. That’s what I said. But these are these new directors. You know, you just gotta give ‘em their… you know, let ‘em hang themselves. I’ve seen some pictures of it. I think it’s old-fashioned ’cause it’s taking ‘em a very long time to get it done, but they’re very excited.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox is scheduled for November 6, 2009

Synopsis
“Boggis and Bunce and Bean, One short, one fat, one lean. These horrible crooks, so different in looks, were nonetheless equally mean.” Mr. Fox, Mrs. Fox, and all their fox babies live under a hill under a tree, along with Badger, Rabbit, Weasel, and all of their families. To make ends meet, every night, Mr. Fox steals a meal from one of the three crooked farmers–Boggis, a chicken farmer, Bunce, who has a little bit of everything but only eats duck liver, and Bean, who farms turkeys and apples and subsists solely on apple cider. With his keen sense of smell, and the farmers’ distinctive diets, Mr. Fox has no problem evading them. After so much treatment, the greedy farmers band together to end Mr. Fox. They ambush him at the base of his hole in the hill, and while Mr. Fox survives, his tail does not. Thus begins an obsession on the part of the farmers. They first try to dig the foxes out, but they are outdug by eight sets of paws. Then, they move to starving them out. This is unfortunate, as no other creatures living under the hill (though now more of a valley; a bulldozer was involved at one point) can get out, either. Mr. Fox is not a very popular figure until he chances across the idea of digging under the farmhouses… Based on the childrens book by Roald Dahl.
